The caption writers for Wellington’s Dominion Post, once, back in their 1980s heyday, were often times funny, brilliant and memorable, that now but a distant memory.
Recently they showed a photo of a badly flooded road beside Southland’s Mataura river. Brace yourself.
The caption advised the river is running high and will be closely watched overnight, in case it floods.
