A NATION OF SHEEP

The Colmar Brunton survey showing a sizeable majority of support for the government’s totally unnecessary lockdown excesses, came as no surprise. But come election time with 25% unemployment and general despair and there will be a markedly different reaction.

The fact is, right now, if Jacinda, as instructed by the default leader Ashely what’s his name, announced that from next Monday, everyone must get about with a 6-inch length of broom handle up their bums, I have not the slightest doubt the majority would comply.

The Police would be out in force dragging down pedestrians’ pants for spot checks.

The homosexual faction would complain about cultural appropriation, and so it would go.

A couple of weeks back one of my gardeners phoned to see how it’s going. I asked why he wasn’t here and could hear the genuine terror in his voice as he bleated about the Police stopping motorists.

My thoughts immediately turned to hiring three actors to turn up at his home dressed as policemen, root him out from under his bed and charge him with starting the Crimean War.

I didn’t pursue it as I knew the outcome. He’d confess.

Meanwhile the other gardener turned up and got stuck in. No surprise there. He’s Asian.

This is wrong on so many levels.
It would be hard to even use Trumps ” sarcasm ” defence.

    Utter rubbish – touchie feelies?

On the contrary, on all levels this is succinct social commentary, the kind of which has been almost completely missing in this country since the untimely death of Billy T James.
Kiwis, somewhat generally, pride themselves on living in “god’s own”, however if god actually had a country of “his/her own”, in order to be “godlike” ie; desirable and revered by the many, perhaps one of it’s characteristics would be real freedom.
This would ,presumably, include the freedom to exist, while totally granting that right to all others.
One would hope this might include an apparently long forgotten aphorism,of which Billy T was an excellent proponent, and that is..” sticks and stones may break my bones,
but names will never hurt me”.

It’s satire – and why are you reading this column with no sense of humour?

I like this blog. Spot on

Which part of the blog did you like the best?
The homophobic part , the racist part or just the general sociopathic part ?

Hard to choose but probably the bit that annoyed you most – the sardonic humour.

I liked them all. However,I’m not remotely woke, and utterly unimpressed by your attempt to denigrate the general (humourous) tenor of the article,by attaching labels, which are intended to negate and slur.
Such labels only work on those who are pre-programmed to grant them validity.
Keep this in mind when addressing a wider audience

All of it. Laughed like a hyena.

I liked the whole thing because it apparently triggered some … laughter is always the best medicine – especially in lockdown, what else do we have?

Jacinda controls the journalists, the journalists control the sheep
Refer “animal farm” for the outcome

Off topic maybe but I just need somewhere to vent. The government has achieved what it initially aimed for – “flattening the curve”. Now, after a bit of goal post shifting they have also, by the standard WHO definition, achieved “elimination” (zero or very few cases within a defined geographical area). Where is the science behind continuation of Level 4 and then Level 3 lockdown? The definition of elimination has been satisfied. Are they saying we have had only a little bit of elimination so we need a bit more just to make sure. Who decides, and on what basis, when enough elimination is enough? On what scientific basis were the different provisions of the different alert levels made? Who made these up? For example, have there been studies to show that two way journeys between regions from one “bubble” to another present a greater risk than one way journeys? I can just picture the round table discussion of “experts” coming up with things which seem like a good idea, but really have no basis in science. Happy to be enlightened on this if anyone knows. And now they are talking about enacting legislation for Level 2 in order to get around provisions of the Human Rights Act 1993 and the Bill of Rights Act 1990 with respect to limitations of our freedom which have been legal under emergency management provisions. I despair.

What you need to understand is that it is not our lovely cindy who controls this hoax, but her ‘handlers’ in the Nw o and uN, who want to destroy the World economy so the ‘plan’ can be implemented

Ah, yes. The police. That’s another thing that riles me.
I was reading the Plan B website, and saw this:
“At the beginning of the lockdown, Police Commissioner Mike Bush was another leader in a position of huge, largely unchecked, power. In response to the question of whether a citizen was allowed to go for a drive to a local beach or park, Commissioner Bush replied: “There’s a short answer to that – no they’re not.” (Interview, NewstalkZB, Wed 25 March). This appeared to be in contradiction to the Prime Minister’s earlier advice and the instructions on the government’s official Covid-19 website. The Prime Minister’s advice suggested more faith in the ability of New Zealand citizens to both help contain Covid-19 and keep an element of normality in their lives, not to mention have some freedom of movement (section 18, NZ Bill of Rights Act 1990). The Police Commissioner’s language reflects an unnecessarily rigid and draconian approach.
This approach was further evidenced the next day when Commissioner Bush stated that citizens should only drive when absolutely essential and that “We may even have a little drive with you to see where you’re going.” (Interview, NewstalkZB, Thurs 26 March). For those who don’t follow the rules, the Commissioner warned they would be “having a little trip to our place.” (Interview, RNZ, Thurs 26 March). While police supervision of the lockdown is necessary, I believe the language used here is unnecessarily intimidating and provocative.”
I would go further. This Commissioner Bush is out of order, and should be disciplined.
In my business, I sometimes have interaction with the various gangs in NZ. If you want police assistance, it’s like finding the yeti.
Yet when it comes to bullying citizens harmlessly going about their business, the police are all over it.
They should be ashamed of themselves, as should be our useless media.

The police and their masters, the pollies, are scared of the gangs. Imagine if the roadblocks up north had been ‘Pakeha’ roadblocks. They all would have been cleared within 24 hours.

Beware of what may happen. As a rebellious and definite non compliant citizen to the possible “Broomhandle Declaration “a further terrifying though comes to mind as this could result in a vast army of Civil Service Types to oversea this being employed.Items they would angst over on their whiteboards could include the following for consideration and action: :
(1)Acceptable broomhandle wood for registration (cant use natives )
(2)What is acceptable standard broomhandle diameter and no of units per handle
(3)Registration and certification of device manufacturers together with permitted packaging (plastic banned)
(4)Safe insertion protocol and approved lubricants
(5)Dealing with cellphones in prisons
(6)Predicted,actual and possible compliance levels and their reporting protocols
(7)Collection of relatable data and who does it
(8)Who will give the daily update on channel one to us all should we tune in .
Sir Robert by all means serve it up to them but please dont give em more ideas .We are drowning in this crap.

    Dr Phil
It is not the Civil Service types who are all over this.
It is the Health and Safety brigade.
My inbox for the last week has been full of Risk Analysis requests , Protocols we are going to be using , Protocols the Main Contractor is implementing , new site inductions for my staff , it’s never ending. And that’s for every client we work for.
All for Alert 3 for a period of 2 weeks. With another round I expect at Alert 2 etc.
I would gladly have stayed out another week if we could have skipped this stage.
People who only have to abide by the rules have got no idea what goes on behind the scenes.

I love Asians too!

I prefer my own race and everything about my own racial and cultural heritage, like the part-Maoris do and everyone else. But I guess that makes me a racist, whatever that is. Only White people can be racist, as we know, as we have seen. The late Sir Paul Holmes — what a nightmare he went through. He was attacked by the controlled Mainstream Media, always alert for another story. And of course Paul Henry. And of course Mel Gibson. They were all torn apart by the Mainstream Media, like sharks, ripped and torn apart because they had the temerity to speak their minds — something not ‘allowed’ today, but totally allowed for the organization called Black Lives Matter, an organization based solely and totally on race. Strange world we live in. RIP Sir Paul Holmes, you were one of the brightest and most intelligent TV and radio personalities that we had.

I think I might reread your book The Permit.

…faction would complain about cultural appropriation……
Pure comedy gold.

Right you are,Sir Bob.

We are now back to where we were in February except with a wrecked economy and a huge debt. What do we do now, what we should have done in February or keep making the same mistakes for the rest of the year?

He’s not a journalist but an academic breaking ranks. Will certainly be assaulted by his fellow inmates for his wrong thought.

Actually billy , I thought that was a pretty light-weight piece if he wanted to make that point.
    He needed more substance.
I’d hate to think he got paid for that.

Sir Robert,
I would like to give you my sincere gratitude for setting up this blog, and enabling people to have a voice. It is a shock getting my posts published.
You see, I tried to post my views on mainstream media (Stuff). Almost 100% of my posts were banned there. Yet none of my posts broke any rules, that I can see. I suspect that since I wasn’t dancing with pom poms about the government performance to date, into the bin I went.
Anyway, thanks again for your blog. Your posts are magic.
“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” [Leonard Cohen]

I agree with you, Bob. The unfortunate truth is that we are in fact a nation of automatons who find it difficult to move or think outside our given parameters. So perhaps the only hope is for someone else to open the gate which allows the opportunity for the herd to bolt in a different direction.

With this in mind, I recommend as many people as possible listen to this medical press conference from two front line doctors in California from yesterday. They have all the latest compiled statistics on the COVID19 situation in the USA and they are recommending countries immediately go back to work as this virus is no more lethal than the seasonal flu and the social cost of staying in lockdown is much worse than commonly seen.

https://naturalsolutions.nz/info/covid19-coronavirus-medical-press-conference-april-23rd-2020

That is a very interesting press conference from those US Doctor’s. It is over an hour long, however if you can find time to watch the first 38mins it will tell you all you need to know. Very very interesting, and should be shown to our government.

I wrote the following letter to the NZ Herald on Tuesday. They published a SINGLE SENTENCE out of it, omitting most of my argument, obviously terrified that some Sheeple readers might be able to grasp the truth otherwise.

The sentence they published was:

“Next to no deaths” following the date of lockdown means the scare stories were untrue and full lockdown was unnecessary.

Here is the full letter:

Subject: Lockdown did it? Pull the other one, it’s got bells on

Dear Editor

May I ask an inconvenient question of everyone who thinks like your correspondent David Mairs (letters 21 April).

Why would introducing a lockdown result in an immediate reduction in deaths from COVID-19? An exponential increase should logically be expected for several weeks regardless, due to people having been infected over the preceding period. People do not drop dead the moment they are infected. Nor is the virus sufficiently knowing as to recognise the sincerity of our Prime-Minister-Saint and obediently depart from people it’s already infected.

Sir Bob Jones’ recent gone-viral blog postings are exemplary of an elder with a still-acute faculty of logic and a still-acute B.S. detector. “Next to no deaths” following the date of lockdown means the scare stories were untrue and full lockdown was unnecessary. The public’s existing level of fear and voluntary behaviour change was sufficient.

Sir Bob points out several factors that should be self-evident: NZ is not Northern Italy or New York City in any single one of numerous relevant factors to disease spread and deadliness.
Yours faithfully
Etc etc

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/121270196/coronavirus-police-officer-holds-taser-while-questioning-shoppers-over-covid19-distancing

Read the article above, how rights as human beings are being stripped away as we speak, these unlawful gansters (Police) are unlawfully harassing the general public and its a disgrace! if you are going about your business no one should be allowed to harass and profile you, the indignity of this will last a long time and these cops need to pull there head in, I hope this person never shops there again, the day you cannot stop and talk to friends is a very sad day indeed. This needs to be brought up in those fake reports at 1pm but sadly this will be overlooked.

    Hi Phil,

I think when governments make mistakes THIS big they can’t admit it. Probably not even to themselves.

Unfortunately we are followers – not leaders. So we just followed every other country to avoid looking “irresponsible”.

The “media industry” have just been handed 51 million dollars of taxpayer money to spin the government narrative. This is the most corrupt action I have seen in 60 years of following NZ politics.

Thanks for the blog Sir Bob and thanks for all your help over many decades.

markscreaminggoosearmstrong April 25, 2020 at 2:13 pm

Priceless Sir Bob.

ferrari12345hotmailcom April 25, 2020 at 3:47 pm

With all the calculated brainwashing propaganda being focussed on NZ population atm, our lovely cindy will have no problem getting the sheeple to vote for her in Sept. All that will be needed is a few key words and visuals near the time, and masses will be triggered

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.”
W B Yeats, The Second Coming

Who would have thought anarchy would be unleashed by two clowns in the world’s oldest democracies, and by a doctor operating a ventriloquist’s puppet in the world’s remotest.

If the other gardener was of the self-identifying type, he’d get a police escort.

Phil and Cake Face.
I can see exactly why you are not getting past these editors.
Have you heard the saying : ” softly , softly catchee monkey “.
No editor of a middle of the road , light-weight publication is going to let that sort of comment pass. That’s commentary to a specific audience.
As in , only those who are likely to agree with you.
What you regard as passionate , informed , commentary they just see as rabid !
Phil , when you went off topic and started talking about Sir Bob views and not your own , you lost credibility.
No offence to Bob intended.

OK, you and everyone else, please, have a go at writing a polite letter making the same point and see how you get on! Re-reading my letter, the Herald could have included approximately 4 sentences that were completely objective and dispassionate, and that would have made my point clearer to a greater number of people.

Frederick Williscroft April 25, 2020 at 5:58 pm

Thank you Bob for some sanity. The media have completely lost all objectivity and are brazen cheer leaders for the government. I think TV1 is the worst. Last night Simon Dallow opened a news item stating that Simon Bridge’s Facebook post had received “tens of thousands of comments”. When the alleged state broadcaster engages in such exaggeration you know the game is up. When the unemployment figures are through the roof and the economy is in the gutter I wonder how they will spin it. Perhaps they will ignore it and hope no one notices.

gwha,
Rabid is defined “as having or proceeding from an extreme or fanatical support of or belief in something”.
Firstly, lets clearly analyse who is extreme?
It is a fact that the NZ government, with the collaboration of the media, has instituted the most extreme lockdown in the world.
It is a fact that the NZ government, with the collaboration of the media, is the only country in the world pursuing an “elimination” strategy for coronavirus.
Both point to the fact that it is the NZ government, collaborated with by the NZ media, who are the extremists.
The humble CAKE FACE has certainly pointed out in no uncertain terms that I do not like their dogmatism, inflexibility or ideological thinking.
The question you should be asking is – why are the media so afraid of an alternative viewpoint?
Let me give you a hand with this one:
“It is not difficult to deprive the great majority of independent thought. But the minority who will retain an inclination to criticize must also be silenced. Public criticism or even expressions of doubt must be suppressed because they tend to weaken support of the regime. As Sidney and Beatrice Webb report of the position in every Russian enterprise: ‘Whilst the work is in progress, any public expression of doubt that the plan will be successful is an act of disloyalty and even of treachery because of its possible effect on the will and effort of the rest of the staff.’”

Hi. In times of emotion we all articulate ourselves in different ways. Sometimes it offends, upsets or alienates. But fundamentally we all need to be able challenge political decisions made by those elected by us. And not be afraid of the PC culture swamping society.
I see this as another Y2K, this time global hysteria cultivated by epidemiologists who have been managed to scare politicians for years, about apocalyptic pandemics being imminent, as opposed to IT gurus 20 years ago. Like Y2K there are vested interests and it is the role of our politicians to make balanced decisions for ALL of society.
I believe initial covid controls were absolutely required as we didn’t have enough facts and it could have been bad, but even to a unscientific muppet such as myself, it became very evident that our government had gone too far and needed to relax the controls. But they had gone past the point of return. True leadership is being able to admit errors, be accountable and correct them, NOT double down.
Balance was lost and left wing socialist agendas are overtaking.
Lastly, I don’t want to see the elderly die, but this is Darwinian and the stats do not stack up for Covid globally versus the factual data of other illnesses that kill our elderly.

When the wage subsidy runs out and all these people get made redundant they will be balling their boss not Jacinda. Sadly.

Let’s talk about extremists, since this crisis has brought them out from under their beds, albeit briefly. Beware, in particular, the eco-fascists.
Professor Baker, apparently one of the architects of this extremist lockdown, justified it on the basis that a Great Depression would actually be fantastic news! A Great Depression would be environmentally sustainable! A new utopia, presumably hugging trees and knitting sensible cardigans, would replace ugly hobbies like overseas travel…
I think everyone should be allowed a voice, but how much weight should I give to their views?
The Greens achieve around the 5% mark in most elections. 95% vote for someone else. Should they really be allowed to run the show?
This is really the issue I have with the truant Swedish schoolgirl, who represents eco-fascism internationally.
Who elected her?

For a little while now I have suspected that this is wealth re distribution by stealth. All of a sudden the government is letting the few big corporates run wild while destroying every small business they can. Now all the small/medium business owners (where the bulk of NZs economic wealth is held) are being put to the wall for no real reason…

Bob always tells it like it is, something most people are too scared to do our politically correct society. Socialists would hate him as he’s expressing his freedom of speech, my point being if you don’t like reading his posts then don’t visit this website.

With regard to the present Coronavirus issue, his post on the future election and economic outcome a week ago was an excellent analysis. He laid it out perfectly how Adern is finished as prime minister. At the end of the year after losing she’ll be forever known in New Zealand history as the Prime Minister who collapsed the New Zealand economy through utter stupidity.

    Yes , watched that James
Started out strong , looked like they were going to do a steamroller job on that room.
Then a few questions from the room , I assume just journalists.
That started a bit of sweating and handwringing if you noticed.
Then they came clean about their personal involvement financially.
Then right at the end they showed their real allegiances and beliefs.
Their claims of testing didn’t stack up enough to support their argument.
US is 13th ranked for testing / capita globally.
And California is ranked 3rd lowest of the 50 states.
State or County Health Board has said they won’t be changing their plans , as you would expect.
So they are just going to have to ride it out like everyone else.
I would like to get another opinion on their claim that you start to lose all your lifetime naturally built immunity after a few weeks in lockdown.
Those men and women that go into space for extended periods must come back like newborns.
Haven’t heard of a lot unexplained fatalities in that group.

When I am feeling frustrated and angry at the amazingly short-sighted and incomprehensible measures taken in response to COVID 19 I find relief in reading this blog. It gives me hope that there are some who question. And think. May the movement grow!!!

Having to regularly breach a police cordon during lockdown to swim in Wellington harbour, I say Amen to Robert J.
Mind you its not exactly the Berlin Wall though up to 5 policeman strolling at a time giggling arm in arm, grown up policeman on bicycles, airline security staff, patrol cars, a mobile police unit, unmarked police cars, and lights flashing can be intimidating, especially to old lingering ladies out walking the dog.
Sleepless nights have followed as I struggle with the guilt of having possibly infected most of the fish in the harbour, not to mention the Guy Fawkes Orca .
I look forward to midnight next Tuesday when thousands of Wellingtonians will emerge from house arrest and plunge into the balmy waters [ not of course with their buddies].
But sorry, Robert, I disagree with your economic forecasts.
She may just look like a toothy teenager but her stellar business career, moving up the ranks in a fish and chip shop in Morrinsville, says she has exactly the credentials to lead us all across the economic Red Sea that will follow.
The waters will surely part .
Although having no prior business experience Grant [ payout] Robertson didn’t get his Christian name by accident.
Although not the person I’d prefer to give me a hand up

No surprise there.Hes Asian.Does this mean Asians regularly break our Laws???

It must be a pain having yo deal with gardners. Lmk if you are ever keen to sell you house Bob Jones

We have been drowning in ‘sheeple’ since Labour defaulted into the highchair. Is there any wonder we are hard pressed to find anyone of maturity with sufficient vision, nous and worldly experience to take the helm, one who is able to articulate and project the image of a statesman (sorry ‘person’ – god save us from that crap) whom we can ALL be proud of to run this country as it should be. But no, we continue to be beset with spineless, sheeple panders who find it easier to surround themselves with fawning sucks and needy apologists who will beat a blind path to the ballot box in September, or whenever – … ahoy there Capt’n J, iceberg off the starboard bow, approaching fast !
