MAJOR LAW FIRM PARASITE

Well done Simon Bridges for slamming the major law firms who’ve taken millions of taxpayers money during the close-down, as commendably exposed by Stuff and the Herald.

If there’s one activity that can function for a time working from home, then that’s law.

Furthermore, the senior partner of one of these bludger outfits burbled to the media that it was so successful they’re thinking of doing it permanently to save office rentals.

Of course there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for that mob putting their hand into taxpayers pocket, namely they don’t intend charging clients for the work they did from home during the lockdown. Where’s the Tui billboard when we need it?

Apparently it has been so cold in the South Island, that Lawyers have had their hands in their own pockets.

“Well I never” as grandma used to say in the 50s.
I had the impression that the lawyers had their hands in the TAXPAYERS’ pocket…. And not just those from the S. I.
There’s plenty of cold wind in the N. I. too so more needy (choke choke)
    lawyers everywhere.
Though I gather a few have suddenly revised their calculations. The world surely is full of surprises and coincidences in timing. 🙄

Tip of the iceberg I expect

What a disgrace…… If things are as they seem, which is only sometimes true. Not a good look though, legal eagles.
I heard once, as a teenager many years ago that lawyers often had to be buried in large circular or square coffins. Obviously a joke directed at a relative….. it took me some years of life experiences to realise what that probably meant/ means.
There are always exceptions to every rule (or belief or saying ).
I do know one, a woman, who would certainly qualify.

Certainly been on my mind as my firm charged me more than normal over this period blaming the extra costs in relocating staff home and associated additional costs.

I’d demand a refund, post their name on social media, and fire them. Parasites is a spot on description for them.

They need those staff to prepare the statutory demands and bankruptcy notices for their legion of corporate clients who will fondly hope to recover from businesses that are falling of the edge of the lock down world. Unless Dr Moreau can keep them “safe” by a special rule for process server social distancing that extends beyond the letter box.

Hear hear. My experience in working with lawyers is most of them are so venal one has to say they work for their fees, but not for their clients. This is a classic example of lawyer greed and arrogant sense of self-entitlement over-ruling what little common sense they possess.

It wasn’t just Lawyers. What about the booze barons, the kiwi fruit growers(doing swimmingly),Mataura Valley Dairy Co, etc.The list goes on,though to be fair, Minister Robertson has indicated some sort of review process to identify any unwarranted claims.
