Is there any limit to human optimism? I mention that first in respect of a new high-rise hotel currently off and on being constructed in a desolate site in Lower Hutt’s CBD. The hotel is reportedly targeting tourists. So why would tourists go to Lower Hutt?
One reason is for a laugh, namely to see a magnificently ironic example of world class screaming bad taste, as per the photo below.

The occupant, Moore Design, offers “architectural services,” this message alongside a shiny golden chrome entrance verandah fascia which conceivably might go down a treat in Ruatoria but is otherwise hardly likely to attract clients seeking good design.
Still, as the saying goes, there’s no accounting for taste.
