The Boy Scout movement is a soaking wet Edwardian anachronism. Wherever it still survives it’s a regular occurrence for it to be involved in paedophilic scandals. In America’s case it’s involved pay-outs of millions of dollars.
Sexual molestation aside, frankly, parents allowing boys to join the movement are in my view committing child abuse for not steering them towards far better options, be they chess clubs, sporting activities or what have you.
The same goes for the girl guides, an equally sopping wet outmoded movement.
