Last year the government announced the working from home racket by public servants was to cease from January, 2025.
The public service protested and since then they have simply ignored the order.
Given its cost-saving quest, allowing this dishonesty to continue makes a mockery of the government’s expressed public service efficiency goal.
This phenomenon, a hangover from the covid days, is not peculiar to New Zealand. It’s now being attacked by not merely governments but also large corporates, world-wide.
