In Denver in early March, I cut out a newspaper item which will delight readers. It was headed,
“STOLEN BOX OF HUMAN HEADS INVESTIGATED BY DENVER POLICE”
Apparently thieves stole the box from a freight company truck, it being transported, according to the report, “for medical research purposes.”
No further details were provided but one can only speculate whether the original head owners had consented to this use.

Imagine trying to fence that loot…”wot’s in the box guvnor?’
Joking aside, you can wonder no more. Yes, the original user of the head must give consent. There is an excellent account of the interesting (if a bit macabre) things that happen to cadavers .The book is called “Stiff’ by Mary Roach and is a thoroughly good read.
Doesn’t the owner of the head need to be alive to give his consent? And why are they always male heads, during this time of diversity?
