THE LUDICROUS GREEN PARTY

The Greens have not exercised the Waka jumping option against Darleen Tana which would enable them to have their entitled 15 MPs, as per their last election percentage vote under MMP.

This they argue is because historically they never supported that provision on the grounds that it would lead to ending opinion diversity within a party. That was silly. There’s a rich variety of opinions on every topic in any group of people and democracy resolves debated issues, plus compromise is part and parcel of politics.

I suspect they know that and thus I wonder why they’re not acting to eject the crooked Darleen Tana from her maori nirvana of living royally off the long suffering taxpayer in return for nothing.

Perhaps the truth may lay in better the 14 person status quo when one considers the next in line who would join them, namely Benjamin Doyle.

On face value Benjamin has standard key NZ Green Party credentials, notably being a homosexual and having some maori ancestry.

But it was publication of his Masters thesis which emerged following the possibility of his elevation that doubtless alarms them.

This is the biggest load of sheer gibberish I’ve ever read.

The Press Gallery will be slavering with high entertainment expectations should Benjamin make it to Wellington. They will bail him up at every opportunity and ask him what day it is and such like tricky posers. And judging by his thesis nonsense, it’s odds on he will richly reward them with his responses.

For those interested enough to suffer through it.

Bob, It’d be lovely if you were right but our press is only interested in pursuing and concocting weaknesses in the coalition government, and all members of the lefts opposition is sacrosanct and protected from any ridicule and criticism.

More idiots – god forbid!

With the disappearance of James Shaw, the Green Party appeal to the male voter will collapse, and probably has already. Along with Tory Whanau, most of the green party will have to look for another job in a short while. And that is going to be much more difficult for non producers.

It is clear the elites control of energy has not been good for the masses or the planet however. and the sooner NZ moves further towards self sufficiency the better. One could argue this was the direction Muldoon was heading, however the globalists weren’t having any of this, and called in the loans; then picked up the public assets for pennies on the dollar.

Homes in Holland; which use to be gas heated, are now solar heated and powered. They are forward thinkers, and not feeling the cold as much as most other parts of Europe; who have been captured by the absence Russian gas. Follow the money for the truth of this.

Free trade never existed, and those that advocate this are Trojan horses. We need to move more trade towards other smaller countries, who value trading with similarly smaller countries; rather than being bullied by the big ones.

Most politicians couldn’t possibly understand this, as they have never been in business. Luxons move more towards the US is not a good sign for business going forward however. And public private partnerships he is advocating should be with local funders to keep profits local, rather than US interests e.g. Blackrock etc, who extract too much profit already.

We need leaders who care for the long term future of our country, so our grandchildren can enjoy the great country we have; rather than satisfying short term speculators.

It’s clear from scanning the list of academic grants that a mastery of wokester keyword bingo is all that is required for tertiary accolades and taxpayer largesse to flow. Benjamin is simply playing the game by the current rules. Move the goalposts back to common sense and the results will change.

Talkback host Geoff Sinclair, whenever the subject of the Green Party came up, frequently would say “You wouldn’t vote for the Greens in a fit!”

Sorry to comment twice-but SRJ highlights one of the perennial problems with MMP. The ability for non-representative people to live at the taxpayers expense. Democracy is supposed to be about representation. Who on earth does Benjamin Doyle represent? What possible experience does he have, such that he feels fit to pass laws over the rest of the population? Annoyingly, like a lot of the trendy lefty green MPs, I suspect he wants not to represent, but to dictate to us dreary proles. Oh to be ethnic & gay!

Well I’ve come to the conclusion that what New Zealand needs is actually an educated Swedish dictator for a period of say 10 years. New Zealand is a very immature country that can neither cast off its British history nor progress it’s self to be an inclusive society where all our people have equality. That’s not suggesting that everyone will have equal financial positions because that’s an impossibility. What is required is that we all live by the same laws, we are all entitled to international standards in education, health care, we need to lessen the wealth divide so none one has to endure poverty, abuse, racism and being considered outcasts because of differences as people. We need housing security of tenure, we don’t all want or need to own our house. In Switzerland, a very wealthy nation 70% of the population rent their houses. Our rental laws provide no protection or security of tenure. Our rental law is archaic which make the less wealthy or those that choose to rent a home poorer because they can be subject to lease termination in short order which causes them financial and social disruption. Our obsession with home ownership is ridiculous as is the fact that in New Zealand citizens that rent are somehow considered lesser class citizens. The sooner we introduce a capital gains tax on property (excluding a main residence) the sooner we will solve the housing crisis.

We need to grow up as a nation and stop behaving like a bunch of uneducated, intolerant, irresponsible, disrespectful and unproductive teenagers.

Until we start to move forward and mature as a nation the sooner we will halt the slide to the abyss to which we are headed. It’s everyone’s responsibility to be part of the maturity progress that will lead to a better life for all.

I live in hope!

Marc and good Samaritan have said all I could hope to say. Having travelled I have long been of the opinion that a benevolent dictatorship has got an awful lot going for it, however, a position so hard to fill, certainly not just a three year contract and then walk away from the ruins. I dislike taking a negative attitude but we are all standing around a very large pot hole and it will not get filled leaning on ideology, we need a truck load of pragmatism.
