KAMALA HARRIS

Kamala is on track to be the next American president. She presents a striking contrast to Trump on every count and will win the office by a record margin of Trump’s three runs to date.

The U.S Presidential voting system is highly undemocratic. It was designed that way for now redundant reasons, albeit they never had much merit in the first place.

Consider the all-import upper chamber, the Senate. This comprises two representatives from each of the 50 states. Thus Wyoming with circa 550,000 people has two representatives and California with circa 40 million people also two.

So too with the Presidential election system. Clinton won 3 million more votes than Trump in 2016 but due to the system, lost.

The same anomalies prevail in New Zealand, Britain and many other western democracies. There’s a rationale behind it but it’s still basically undemocratic.

Thus a rural vote carries a lot more voting power than an intense urban vote, such as one cast in Otaki as against one in South Auckland.

Following the last British election a cry has arisen for an MMP system, such were the anomalies. Put simply both the American and British systems for different reasons, favour the political right.

But so glaring is the contrast between Harris and Trump I sense a landslide victory for her, despite the system’s distortions.

One is a highly educated public office-holder, the other an astonishing ignoramus who relies on lies and personal abuse, is a convicted rapist, a property developer who not a single US bank will lend to, and so on and on.

If I was an American it goes without saying, holding right wing political and economic views as I do, I’d vote Republican. But not this time, rather I’d contribute financially to the Democrats, give them my vote and help remove Trump once and for all before his inevitable prison sentence as his career swansong.

Trumps personality traits are dreadful(in fact worse) I agree, but holy heck she is unbelievably incompetent for such a role. Sadly the dems are doing a masterful job along with the media to keep the dems in power at all costs

You’re bang on when you say Trumps [sic] ‘personality traits are dreadful’ but by what measure do you consider Harris to be ‘‘unbelievably incompetent for such a role’ and I assume here you mean the Presidency? As a matter of interest, do you consider the sexual assailant, fraudster, and thief called trump to be more competent and if so, why?

I think you prediction is correct but wo beside America & the world if she is elected. She will be a disaster.

What impact do you think Trump’s proposed across-the-board tariffs of at least ten percent will have on the global economy and will it be a case of woe betide the world?

Same was said of Obama, same of Biden. She will not be a disaster.

‘Heels up’ education no doubt.

Totally aggree.
Jacinda is due to speak on the Democrats in terms of the benefits of a more enlightened revolutionary government and all the benfits in terms of the stuff she was able to bring Aotearoa.

We are reaping the benefits of her out of control spending now aren’t we.

Glad she is gone, it makes NZ a better place

    Benefits?? To New Zealand ??
Comrade Ardern wrecked New Zealand. She has destroyed much industry, and left the nation divided racially and on the path to apartheid.

Well explained. Thanks.

I’d bet on a Trump landslide followed by civil disorder.

Or a Democrat win followed by civil disorder…

I think that covers it 🙂

I suspect the last time America was as divided politically was around the time of a tea party in Boston….

How can a rural vote carry more power than an intense urban one when all electorates have the same population plus or minus 5%? Urban voters have much better representation too because their MPs cover far smaller areas eg Epsom covers 20.02 sq kms and Southland 31,313.05 sq kms. Urban electorates are much more likely to have list MPs as well as electorate ones too, although whether that’s an advantage is debatable.

I hope you are right Bob. Trump is a loony tune if ever there was one and if the Yanks put him in after the Jan 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol Building, his prosecutions and his continued lies at every turn, then they well and truly need their heads read.

If we put Trump’s conviction to one side, (I’m not saying it’s not important) when you compare Trump’s proposed policies to those of Kamala, do you think Kamala would be a better servant of the American people or are you saying that you feel that he is personally so toxic that regardless of his policies you could not bring yourself to support him?

Quote from Kamala
“Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe as a democracy, As a democracy, we know there’s a duality to the nature of democracy. On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact. What it does for its people to protect and defend their rights, their liberty, and their freedom. Incredibly strong and incredibly fragile.”

Of course if you want real technical demonstration, talk to Kamala about Venn diagrams (in response to the Supreme court decision on abortion
“You know, when the Dobbs decision came down, I actually — so, I’m going to confess, I love Venn diagrams. You know, those three — if you’re ever like in a moment of conflict, pull out a Venn diagram, They’ll just help you sort things out, right?”

Of course Kamal wouldn’t be where she is today, without Willie Brown

The way that the most Americans receive their media information is changing.

Joe Rogan is arguably the most successful Podcaster of all time.

He recently accused both democrats and republicans of misleading voters and stated that he was a fan of Kennedy, who is the only candidate “who doesn’t attack individuals, but instead attacks actions and ideas.”

In the last election I voted for Biden, but since I’ve witnessed the democrats continual abuse of power through reckless overspending, irresponsible border security and the endorsement of grotesque scatter bombs in the Ukrainian war, well I certainly won’t support this current administration again.

Kennedy has my vote, and if you want to label him as a spoiler, then I agree. I hope he spoils it for both the democrats and republicans.

Common sense must prevail on important issues like the environment, border security, health, fiscal responsibility, poverty and ending the forever wars.

It’s time to elect leaders that listen carefully, consider issues with an open mind, and then respond with intelligence, without resorting to vitriol or childish nicknames.

Since I posted on this blog thread five days ago, Robert F Kennedy Jr has endorsed Trump for the upcoming presidential election.

After briefly considering whether I could bring myself to vote for Trump, I’ve concluded that my decision must be based on the issues and not the personalities.

I would have liked to vote for a smiling female candidate of color, but for me, the most important issue is, who will best negotiate peace in the Ukrainian/Russia war?

The Biden/Harris administration, has in my opinion, escalated tensions by sending those disgusting scatter/cluster bombs to the region. Once spread these small scattered bomblets can explode long after a conflict has ended, killing or maiming innocents.

So despite the many reasons that I dislike and disagree with Trump, he will get my vote because of his stance on this most important issue.

How enjoyable to watch NZL hold USA to a 1-1 tie, god damn I’m a little bit drunk from the result and UPA.

      Closing statements time.

I’m watching the debate live, and Kamala is outperforming Donald completely.

She just said “ name calling “ ha hahaha.

Harris will be the next President , but history may show, that scatter bombs leave blood, on the smiling gesticulating hands of democratic agendas.

Harris will be a more palatable figurehead but she will appoint far more left wing figures to head various agencies and the Supreme Court. Recall how the Obama Dept of Education made it far more difficult to suspend trouble makers because some groups were overrepresented. Harris shares the same view of ‘equity’ rather than equal opportunity.

Kamala Harris – a cardboard cutout to replace the other cardboard cutout!

It looks like independent candidate Robert Kennedy Junior is likely to withdraw from the election and officially endorse Trump; he’s facing multi state efforts from the (so called) Democrats to force him off the ballot. This would be a big, and richly deserved, blow to the Harris hopes.

Sir Bob,
Which of Kamala’s policies do you like?

We’ve had endless wars through the democrats. How could you possibly thing Harris is the better option?

” …nothing to see here folks …nothing to see. Look the other way where your comrades ‘should’ be looking…. “

I Think Kamala Harris will be the 47th and current president of the United States

Both as bad as each other…USA has gone down to toilet.
