THE US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Speculation on the outcome is pointless given the mixed messages from polls and the well-justified sceptism of relying on them, as we all know. But one thing we can be absolutely certain about and that is should Trump lose, there will be a virtual civil war outcome of mass rioting by his largely pig-ignorant supporters.

I say that because the feeling about this election is so incredibly intense, to a degree unmatched in any previous Presidential election in America’s history.

As an aside, imagine should he lose, Trump then congratulates Kamala, as conventionally is the case. If Trump was to do that, he could reasonably be charged with mass murder as world-wide people drop dead with heart attacks through shock.

However, there’s no danger of that occurring, civility being utterly alien to Trump. Mixed with gibberish and lies, he has campaigned on a single issue, namely the mass on-going illegal migration, from desperate Latino refugees fleeing their corrupt homelands, notably Haiti and Venezuela.

That fact says it all about the ignorance of his supporters. I say that as he campaigned solely on that issue eight years back with his single message, “I will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it”.

As we know he did not build a wall but had he done, Mexico would have laughed at such a demand.

So in summary, the world will stop on election day, so significant is this election. And if Trump loses we can be sure he will once again claim the election was rigged and the rioting from his followers will hugely exceed four years ago, albeit Trump will take care this time not to egg them on.

America can then get on with its most urgent business, namely getting Trump to his ultimate destination, namely a prison cell for his past crimes.

Bob u don’t seem to make much comment about the socialist Kamala Harris and what will happen should she win, an even greater disaster in the making

Bob clearly does not like Donald Trump & we can all understand why. John Key & many others favour Trump compared to the Ardern-lookalike Harris, & we can understand that too. The one thing for certain is that whoever is President, the USA will continue to be the power house of the world; currency, markets, innovation, infrastructure, business, every front!
We can look back, it didn’t make any difference whether we had Obama, Trump or Biden, the USA kept plowing on, leading the world.
Lets’s not worry too much, governements are becoming increasingly irrelevant!

👍

your comment, pig-ignorant supporters is most definitely a slur on that most noble animal, the Pig!

The tension here is palpable, with obnoxious political signs lining the streets of Phoenix.

The democrats have their provocative signs everywhere declaring “ F**k your prayers”, while the Republicans wave their flags and drive their obnoxiously large trucks at high speed . I just know they have guns and ammo rolling around in the back, waiting to dispense their warped sense of justice.

When I renounced my NZ citizenship and took the naturalization oath of allegiance to the United States, my primary motivation was to be able to vote.

I despise war and couldn’t stand Bush Jr and his neoconservative advisers Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld.

I felt confident that I’d made the right choice when I cast my vote for Obama, but history showed that he kept the US military at war for all eight years.

Seems America is addicted to war and Eisenhower’s warning about the growing military industrial complex was prescient.

Now Cheney has joined the Democrats and I doubt that either party is against war. I thought I’d found a savior with the emergence of JFK jr, but he has sold out and joined Trump.

I’m so anti guns and war that I thought I’d stick with JFK jr, and subsequently filled in my early mail in ballot, having put my scribble beside Trump. The green envelope has sat on my kitchen shelf for the past week, a constant gloomy reminder of my dilemma.

I just can’t bring myself to post it and will now have to join the throngs at the polling booth to cast a provisional ballot in favor of Harris.

My gut just tells me Trump would be another huge mistake, although my gut also tells me that it doesn’t really matter. Whoever wins, the result will be the same. That is two parties that don’t get along and who will spend the next four years squabbling and disrespecting each other.

I still have hope that somewhere within Congress, there will be some reasonable statesmen who will work to create peace through diplomacy. A much younger generation with new ideas and a new approach.

Perhaps they might even be able to respect each other, whilst disagreeing.

Ed put your vote in for trump, he will stop wars and create world peace together with RFK. RFK will be helping with health and the environment. Harris has no clue how to end wars and conflict and is backed by Cheney

I reckon put your ballot in for Trump. He will work with RFK, and stop wars and domestic crime. There has been an eye watering amount of illegal guns brought across the border under Joe and Kamala. Billions profited by gangs and cartels selling fentanyl is a disgrace.

Well the green envelope continues to sit on my kitchen shelf like a rotten piece of fruit waiting to become compost.

This past weekend I hosted an art show at my home studio and had about 200 visitors through my door, but two of them turned out to be canvassers for the democrats and wanted to talk to my youngest daughter and my son. I told them my son had moved to Switzerland and won’t be voting . I also informed them that I have three daughters, the youngest will vote Harris, the middle votes green and the eldest is definitely voting Trump. My New Zealand wife just has a green card, so she has no say.

The canvassers said to me , we have you down as a Trump supporter Mr Taylor, which made me flinch and wonder how they came to that conclusion. Maybe they read this blog where I’ve praised RFK ? Almost nothing surprises me anymore.

I told them I’d decide on November 5, but that I’d been sickened by both parties and may spend my time doing something enjoyable rather than joining a queue that winds around the block .

Both parties are provoking the dictators of Russia and North Korea. The democrats endorsed scatter bombs that will kill innocents years in the future and they also invited Zelensky to personally sign bombs intended to kill Russians.

      Talk about prodding the bear.

Trump is a loose cannon with an ego the size of the Twin Towers and he mocks others with reckless distain. He is impatient when listening and likes to dominate conversations. That’s no way to peace, and I remember him calling Kim Jong-Un , “the little rocket man”. He is provocative and demeaning which is what we’ve come to expect.

In short, I’m sitting on the fence, but this morning my new neighbors pulled up in an enormous RV, struggling to turn into their driveway they snapped a large branch off my beautiful Palo Verde tree. They never apologized or cleaned up after themselves, but as they parked I couldn’t help noticing the large banner covering their back window that read “ Trump is My President “.

For that reason alone, I’ll likely vote for the smiling female .

There are two great discussions out this week – Joe Rogan with Trump and a few days later with Vance. Perhaps watching those will help with your decision, Ed.

Vance was very impressive, as is the rest of the team – Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, Kennedy, Vivek. Compare with Tampon Tim for an example of seriously bad judgement.

Murray you forgot to mention that the US is a world leader in gun violence too.

As I have said elsewhere, I believe a large number of US voters will vote against Kamala Harris rather than for Donald Trump. The outcome of the election will still be a second Trump presidency.

Murray forgot to mention that the US is a world leader in gun violence too.

Last time Trump won it was the Democrats who rioted in D.C., Antifa and company having a right old time setting fires, burning cars and assaulting people. Apparently this was not as serious as Jan 6 when politicians inside the Capitol soiled themselves and counting of the Electoral Votes was delayed by all of a few hours.

Not that the Never-Trump brigade would care but the amount of prison time served by J6 people who assaulted nobody and smashed nothing has been disgusting. Real Police State stuff worthy of Putin. And note that the vast majority of the charges were things like trespassing and interfering with government business – which should be great fun for the GOP the next time the Left explodes into the galleries over some judge nomination or piece of legislation, as they have done many time before.

Still and all, it’ll be the mental meltdowns that will be the most fun to watch – like that idiot woman who became an internet sensation by kneeling in the street and screaming to the heavens when Trump became President.

I don’t see you as pig-ignorant nor myself but in comparison to the insanity of Kamala’s braying laughter and incomprehensible staccato verbiage delivery along with wildly gesticulating arms I’d vote for Attila the Hun.

Oh, and one more thing: Trump will never see a day in prison. It was all lawfare to knock him down, it only empowered him, and now each of the cases are falling apart, even aside from where he’ll win on appeal.

Theyre the world powerhouse of domestic gun violence too Murray.

As SRJ correctly mentions “many Trump supporters are pig ignorant” yet, as I see it, the concern is not that the easily led or gullible will vote for Trump-it’s that people who ought to know better support Trump too.
For example: NZ’s own John Key a man I (wrongly?) assumed valued a civil and democratic society has publicly stated he would vote for Trump were this possible.
This is disturbingly familiar to anyone with even a passing knowledge of History.
History has many examples of a wealthy, educated middle or upper class who believe their success makes them invulnerable or valuable to a despotic leader. All too late they realise their mistake-usually as the cell door closes.
For anyone interested: this is an excellent tally of Trump’s criminality below-it follows a distinct pattern of anti-democratic behaviour. https://youtu.be/6bTpbDL5dcg

Harris is an appalling candidate as well, I’m surprised you are not mentioning this Bob. Having lived there in the past, the big issue that friends are telling me is the constant attack on their freedoms from the left. They are also wary of left wing billionaires corrupting the narrative on TV networks along with a very dark network of individuals that are controlling the Country.

With modern technology people are finding out about the World Economic Forum’s agenda which the Democrats are behind, along with the unelected, hopeless and waste of space being the United Nations.

Trump is a buffoon on all accounts, but he isn’t viewed by the voting public as a puppet, Harris is. The left wing elites want to destroy Trump, but common folk will vote him back in.

Trump will win.

Give peace a chance, hope for a Trump win. Save the planet.
There will likely be more civil unrest in the US if Trump wins.

Bob, I am astounded by the number of Trump supporters who clog your blog. I don’t understand their fascination with the grifter or is it simply a case of their being attracted to the supposed ‘alpha male’?

I acknowledge that Harris is not the ideal candidate and has flaws but I cannot understand how anyone could vote for Trump. He is a narcissistic sociopath.

I read the following in an article recently and here are some of the most apt points.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.

And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff and he breaks them all. He punches downwards and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.

He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.”

Your quote is largely copied from another comment in July referencing the same article.
    Giggling at someone writing
Picasso of pettiness when many hundreds of thousands of people have needlessly died in major wars started in the last 3 years is quite sad.

Well said Fred. This all reminds me of the famous quote by H L Mencken, which was published in the Baltimore Evening Sun newspaper on July 26, 1920. “As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of this land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.”

US is a power house on abortion – just like New Zealand
