THE MAORI FAILURE MARCH

Lying mid-point between a 1600 kilometers long nation, Wellington is the obvious location for New Zealand’s capital.

Numerous economic benefits accrue from that status, notably having the highest average incomes. But it’s not all roses.

The biggest nuisance is being the constant destination for protests from across the nation. The routine is for protesters, for a rich multitude of causes, to first gather on Parliament steps, cheer their leaders’ predictable speeches, then present a petition to the poor sucker MP who’s drawn the short straw to accept it and who will effectively then bin it, once the protestors depart.

It’s at this stage where the protesters nowadays have become a nuisance.

That’s because prior to the lockdown, having completed their pointless Parliament steps speechifying, the protesters, always about midday, would then try to march down Lambton Quay but be quickly rendered ineffective as they were dissolved into the milling lunch-time crowds.

But now, on the days I pop into the office to deal with my correspondence, at least weekly, despite being 12 stories up in one of my Lambton Quay towers, the peace is disturbed by a protest march’s bellowing from below. I look out and note the pedestrians, to which all of this is wearingly familiar, paying them absolutely no attention whatsoever.

The government has now ordered the public servants back to work from January, putting an end to the pretend-to-be-working-from-home scam. That will be a blessing for the CBD inhabitants as once again it will end the insufferable bellowing from protest groups as they become scattered and broken up by the lunch-time crowds.

Today, we’re about to be inflicted by several thousand bullshit protesters who are doing it for totally bogus reasons. Their complaint is at the presentation to Parliament of ACT’s innocuous racial equality bill. Yet they’re fully aware that regardless of its merits or shortcomings, it will not be enacted, given National has said it won’t back it. But still they come, pointlessly inflicting themselves on an unwilling host.

Estimated at 10,000 in number, they represent precisely 0.020% of our nation’s population.

People who join such mass protests are simply weak-minded fashion followers. A meaningful protest is one set out in a written argument.

The big winner from the publicity accorded this rubbish is the ACT party as I have no doubt the vast majority of people subscribe to racial equality in our laws.

Maori dominate all of our negative statistics, be it crime, welfare dependency, health, unemployment, child abuse, low incomes and so on, all take note, TOTALLY SELF-INFLICTED. And all of those negatives carry a considerable financial cost to the rest of society.

Notwithstanding the efforts of the previous and indisputably worst government in our history to promote the ludicrous cult of maori-wonderfulness, be sure the average Kiwi sees that as an absurdity, flying as it did in the face of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Maoris will continue to fall behind the rest of the nation until hopefully the day arises when they finally wake to the reality that having a mindset in the past, will simply keep them there.

The Maori Party, led as it is by a cowboy hat-wearing, face-tattooed world class buffoon, would be more accurately described as the Maori Failure Party, for that is what he and his unpleasant co-leader are effectively promoting.

I’ll cheer him on should he take this nonsense to its logical next step, namely the pre-European maori practise of cannibalism.

He’s an appalling role-model for maori kids. Far better they note truly great maori achievers, such as Kiri Te Kanawa for example, and in particular the key factor in her success, namely her personal and not collective effort.

As a grandson of a immigrant who arrived in NZ of Chinese ancestry who faced legalized racial discrimination, we rose above the obstacles faced before us, not by looking back and moaning about the situation that faced us, but we were told to knuckle down, work hard, study hard and just go for it! We did, and we are at where we are now a successful racial minority contributing to the the success of this country. I rest my case.

None the less, this protest deserves an entry in the Guinness Book Of Records.
The world’s first March For Inequality.

What garbage. It is a complete joke nationally and Internationally. Thug mentality will never be respected or accepted. Ginny Anderson’s uneducated response on News talk ZB this morning said it all. She has absolutely no clue and sounded like a complete fool. If she and the violent young Maori party haka leading woman are an example of the future Politicians in NZ. Then we have a massive problem in this Country and will head rapidly backward.

In the last para add Jerry Mataparae and other well known Maoris who have risen to the highest ranks in their fields.

Who is paying for the Hikoi to be fed and transported?

First ever March for Inequality

“”””” give us all your stuff “””””

spent 2 days in wellington last week, flew down to catch a show, sad to see both our popular cafes closed, to open again in January, cab driver when quizzed said it was all this working from home , which explained why mid week lunch time felt like sunday afternoon

Let the world see today a brilliant display of greedy, lazy, precious madness.

Well said. The impression I get isTPMaori want the rest of us to feed & water them for the rest of their lives.

I watched the documentary on TVOne last night about the 501 deportees who deservedly had been kicked out of Australia for committing criminal offences. The underlying theme of the programme was what chance of success did these people have, given they were being deported back to a country where they knew no one. It dawned on me that I, like thousands of other kiwis, had headed overseas to countries where I knew nobody and yet I managed to survive and prosper without joining a gang or ending up in jail. It did not seem to dawn on any of the ‘victims’ in the documentary that not only were they themselves were responsible for their own predicament, but they had it within themselves the potential to turn their lives around. It also crossed my mind that covering your face in tattoos may not be the best way to increase your options in life.

What this country needs to increase its productivity and standard of living is a few thousand more government-funded cultural advisers like the leader of this pointless hikoi! Yeh, right!

Worked in an “Aboriginal” town in Queensland, there had been a Catholic mission there since the 1920s.The mission was in the process of winding down, and ceasing their operation there, I asked one of the Sisters why. Her reply, when they ( the ” Aboriginals”) get a conscience we will be back. Change has to happen from within, current policy reminds me of the “danegeld” where the Saxons tried to buy off the Norsemen. The danegeld goes down in History, as one of the best examples of the futility of throwing money at a problem hoping it will go away. The result, they always come back for more.

Lets cut to the chase…

The waitangi tribunal has been nothing but a banquet for solicitors representing iwi, with very little trickle down effect/support for those who need it….

With Goldsmiths brief outing at the Waitangi Tribunal, he’s in a primary position to provide some good oil to the PM on the merits of what Seymour is promoting; which is an end to the solicitor banquet….

In my limited experience of the court process, its a work creation scam for the solicitors…police know this, judges know this and one suspect most mp’s know this also…

With a significant component of MP’s being trained lawyers, the current prime minister Luxon needs to grow some balls and put a stop to the abusive use of legal aid.

Call me cynical, but this is not a coincidence this Treaty bill is in parliament at the same time there is a major banking review on excessive profits….Its a means of distraction to divert attention away from a bigger rort…

“The biggest nuisance..” Surely the terrible weather or dreadful rugby team is a bigger nuisance?

We hear from the Maori Party that this as a result of colonisation and systemic racism they are denied equal opportunity. They should look at our Parliament.
The Parliament of 122 MPs has a record 32 who are Māori. This represents 26% of Parliament, which is approximately twice the 13.7% of the adult population who are Māori. This contradicts the narrative that the system is somehow hostile to Māori. 6 from the Maori party, 26 from other parties.
We hear that the number of Maori incarcerated is racism. Has anyone ever gone to the trouble to compare like for like crimes and see whether Maori receive harsher sentences than European persons – I bet not.
We hear that Maori die younger than Europeans. Nothing to do with racism – more to do with diet and living in low socio-economic areas with less resources. Unfortunately by pointing this out one is immediately branded a racist.

Very well said. Maori who feel hard done by just need to look at Maori who are successful and ask themselves how they managed to get where they are if everything is against Maori. The Te Pati Maori leaders should be saying look at us and where we are instead of telling their followers that they are treated badly in every area of their lives and it is all to do with racism and NZ’s colonial past. That everyone no matter their race has the ability to do well.
That many of your problems are self inflicted.
But that is not their agenda. They think they can do it all better and that Maori can look after themselves and their own but if thats the case why do they have so many problems.
Also nearly every Maori in NZ, if not all, has some european ancestry and they dont seem to understand that when they are blaming Europeans for all their ills they are blaming their own ancestors or in many cases their own family members as many have one European parent or grandparent.

You are correct. However, you cannot reason people out of a position they haven’t reasoned themselves in to. A generation has been told that the world owes them a living. Now they believe it. Compare that with the hyper-successful Asian immigrants who understand the value of living in the first world.
One of my favourite quotes is from John Burroughs ” A man can fail many times, but he isn’t a failure until he begins to blame somebody else.”

Bob, what is the speed of these world record breaking “walkers” ??? They seem to be hikoi-ing down the island at such a rate of knots that they’ll all soon be recognised in the 2024 Wakachangi Book of Records ??!!!!

As a cuzzy of Kiri’s I know the obstacles she has had to overcome. A truely horrific back story with intervention by wonderful people of both races.
You could not have picked a better example to make your point.

Mstewart. I believe they have taken a page out of the Rosie Ruiz playbook. Rosie won the 1980 Boston Marathon in what was then the third fastest time by a female. She was in remarkably good condition for someone who had just run 26 miles. She was disqualified a few days later when it transpired that she had only run the last half mile.

Are they all prepared to stop accepting social welfare payments and other handouts to survive? No matter what they say, they are being well treated, but should not be treated any differently to the rest of the country.
I came to NZ 66 years ago with $5.00 in my pocket, and worked hard to get what I have today. No hand-outs.

One of the most concerning aspects of this Hikoi of Hate is the children who are being brainwashed by the disinformation and outright lies being propagated by this conspiracy-rife rabble. What hope will these kids have of succeeding in the 21st century?

Why don’t these protesters read the words in the bill and understand that they will be treated equal to us and not superior as they want, All money paid to Māori institutions is kept by the elites and doesn’t filter down to the common people.
If it wasn’t for the English arriving, the inter Trible fighting and cannablism would have had only one dominant tribe and the rest as slaves and food,
A shocking culture pre European.

As an Aussie living in NZ for 53 years, A Maori Fella told me that as a Pakeha I never faced racial discrimination . Boy was he wrong!!! February 1981 at the MCG. Australia bowls underarm for the last delivery of a 1 dayer when NZ needed 6 to win. Bowling to a batter who had never hit a six in his life . I lost count over the next few years being told ” sex & travel ” everytime someone found out I was Aussie. For the next 20 years I was tagged ” underarm” Just as things began to settle down, along comes Brendon Tarrant, another Aussie living here. Well the sex & travel restarted and I have to say it has died down now. However over the last 43 years I havent let this racial prejudice affect me. I have moved along into retirement, a great family, no criminal history, apart from NZ Super, I have never been a any benefit, owned my own business for 21 years and now living extremely comfortable. So if I can, why can’t the Maori who sit around blaming colonisation

I expect there are some people in Western Countries who dislike others for the colour of their skin or accident of birth, but I doubt many.
I’d suggest that the reason members of a race consistently don’t get on well, has very little to do with their colour, but their cultural choices.
I liken it to a runner who has the potential of the others, but choses always to line up wearing gum boots rather than lightweight racing shoes.
When told by his rivals he’d go way faster in the sort of shoes they all wear, all he can do is complain, ‘but it’s my culture.’
The British writer Sir Trevor Phillips talks about the handicap of ‘cultural ball and chain’ practices which should be discarded to get on in the modern world.

Stats will not release next true leaving figures as it will create panic amongst the population.
If we do not force austerity and cut welfare and racial dependency ‘now’ this country is gone.
The left will protest. They put the country in this mess as the left can not exist without social dependency. Anti-austerity law breakers immediately delt with.
The situation is THAT serious.
We have no option.
