The government is giving $55 million of taxpayers money to support what it describes as public interest media. The obvious danger of this is it will compromise recipients’ political comments. To deny that is naive and invites cynicism.
STATING THE OBVIOUS
With a photo a Seanish looking villain called Sean Broderick, the New Zealand Herald advised he’s still on the run and (amazingly) “could be anywhere”.
THE SHUTDOWN STUPIDITY
It will not be lost on the government, like all political participants with their finger always in the wind, that the latest lockdown has been badly received.
