“MAN KILLED ON ROAD HAD WHOLE LIFE AHEAD”

The above, yet another recent brainless Stuff site heading.

The deceased was in his thirties, a significant portion of anyone’s life which was certainly not ahead of him, he having already lived it.

The only accurate use of this absurd cliché can apply to the newly born.

To share an office with these sub-editor dimwits would surely constitute a cruel and unusual punishment.

Times must’ve changed , because I remember when it was accepted that if someone died , they did not have a life in front of them . Not a whole life , nor even a fraction of one . It seems that death isn’t what it used to be .
